Thursday 1 May - Life Lessons: Drop-In Session: Addressing Themes from “Adolescence”

Date: 22 Apr 2025

Thursday 1st May, 3.30–4.30pm, online Via Zoom.

This free CPD event, run by Life Lessons, will provide guidance for teachers and schools to feel more confident in supporting conversations and addressing themes that have emerged from the TV programme Adolescence. Teachers will gain insights into the key issues related to online misogyny, the manosphere, and groups like incels, and how these themes have become more prominent. The session will offer practical strategies for integrating these topics into the curriculum, as well as tips for handling sensitive discussions with students. We will also explore Life Lessons’ approach, including behaviour interventions and wraparound support, and discuss how a whole-school approach can help address these challenges.

There will be chances to connect with others on the call in breakout rooms to reflect on what is happening in your own settings and how confident you are with your approach to tackling these issues. By the end of the session, teachers will feel empowered to confidently navigate these conversations and provide the right support to students.
