Cleaner Air, Cleaner World: Schools Toolkit 2020 (reviewed in 2024 and still valid)
Poor air quality is damaging to our health, and particularly affects children. We can all take positive action to improve air quality. Many of these actions also protect against climate change and improve our overall health and wellbeing.
The Cleaner Air, Cleaner World: Schools Toolkit 2020 is a free resource for primary schools in Swindon. It contains more information on why air quality is important, alongside lesson plans for KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 Air quality experiments, assembly plans and a raft of ideas for how your school can be part of the work to improve air quality in Swindon, these include: Clean Air Pledge template, clean air stickers, clean air posters, templates, clean air revolution words, Modeshift Stars pocket guide, No Idling campaign schools banner and schools postcard. Work done using the Toolkit can contribute to your Healthy Schools awards and the Modeshift Stars national scheme.
Download the toolkit to make your school safe and environmentally friendly. Details here will help support you with producing your banner/poster. Once you have completed this form, send it to us for your certificate.
For further support with the toolkit and to get involved with the anti idling campaign for clean air day, email: stars@swindon.gov.uk
