Autumn 2024: Swindon Pupils Voice Survey on Mental Health and Wellbeing

We hope that you can help run this anonymous survey in your schools, during PSHE lessons/tutor time to ensure that we have a representative idea of the mental health and wellbeing of pupils in years 4, 6, 7 and 10 in Swindon. This really helps with commissioning services and understanding how we can better support children and young people across the borough. Your school will also receive a bespoke report outlining the findings from your school if there are 50+ responses from your school (if a primary school) or 100+ responses from your school (if a secondary school). The deadline for completion is the Christmas holidays (2024). Thank you. Further information including supporting documents are below.
Primary schools
- An information sheet about the survey for you to share with staff.
- An information sheet for parents and carers. This is a Word version so that you can add your school’s logo/contact details if you would like to. Do feel free to send your usual consent letters instead – this is an optional template.
- The PDF of year 4 questions and year 6 questions so that you can see the questions that are included. This is just for your information. Pupils will be completing the survey via an online link (see below).
- Presentations for year 4 and year 6 to show in a class before running the survey. These are in Powerpoint and can be adapted. We cannot upload PowerPoint to this web-site and these have been emailed to PSHE Leads and Senior Mental Health Leads. If you haven't received these, please email SwindonHealthySchools@swindon.gov.uk and we'll email them to you.
- QR codes and links to the surveys. The surveys will be open straight after half term.

The survey takes around 25 minutes for pupils to complete. With the introduction, plus potential conversations that it raises afterwards, you might decide to allow 35-40 minutes.
